"Crazy
Train" by Ozzy Osbourne When
Ozzy left Black Sabbath in the late '70s, I was disappointed.
Black Sabbath had been one of my favorite bands as I was growing
up. I learned all their songs on guitar, which was the best way
for me to learn what power chords could do and the application of the
minor pentatonic for heavy metal solos. In 1981, I heard this
song, Crazy Train, on the radio and couldn't believe my
ears. This was the first I had ever heard of this virtuoso
guitarist, Randy Rhoads, and I went straight to the store to
buy
the album. Rhoads quickly became my new favorite guitarist
because of the way he combined classical guitar with heavy metal. |
